I’m Loria, a designer and illustrator who loves all things beautiful and charming.
 

I grew up in Indiana and now live in sunny, beautiful San Diego. I studied Computer Graphics at a university and worked for many years as a web and graphic designer. After becoming a mom, I took on the full-time role of motherhood, which put my design career on pause for over ten years.
 

loriadesign began during that time as a small home business to satisfy my creative cravings. At first, it was more of a hobby than a business. Now, with a bit more time and space in my life, I’ve returned to pursue the creative work I had long paused, giving loriadesign a fresh new start.
 

I am a self-taught illustrator, and returning to this work at this stage of my life feels both exciting and incredibly fun. Beyond creating illustrations, I love getting lost in books, writing my thoughts, and even finding joy in small acts of care—rescuing little birds struggling in water or rain, watching monarch butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and dry their wet wings, or holding onto the leash left by our beloved dogs who have passed, while silently cheering on the mourning dove couple building their new nest in my backyard.
 

There is so much beauty in the world, and I notice it in countless little everyday moments. My illustrations are an extension of these moments—a collection of images capturing the simple joys of daily life and my own happy moments.
 

I hope everyone who visits this space can discover not only big, extraordinary happiness but also the many small, simple joys in everyday life.
